Burley Fireplaces are a UK-based manufacturer renowned for their high-quality wood-burning, gas and electric fireplaces. With a reputation for craftsmanship and innovation, Burley needed a website that would showcase their extensive product range to both retailers and direct customers.

The Requirement

Burley approached Underdog Design to replace their outdated website with a modern, engaging ecommerce platform. They required a site that not only presented their products in a visually appealing way but also included functionality to support their sales process, such as ecommerce integration, a ‘Find a Stockist’ tool, multiple contact forms and an engaging blog. The design had to reflect their established branding from printed literature while making full use of their existing high-quality photography and video content. A key requirement was that the new CMS be flexible and efficient to manage, without the bloat of page builder plugins, ensuring fast performance and ease of content updates.

The Solution

The new bespoke WordPress website was designed and built around Burley’s strong brand identity, extending the look and feel of their printed materials into a polished digital experience. WooCommerce powers the ecommerce functionality, with carefully structured product attributes enabling users to filter and compare fireplaces easily. A dynamic ‘Find a Stockist’ map helps customers locate nearby retailers, while multiple Gravity Forms handle enquiries and lead capture. To support content marketing, a modern grid-based blog was added, allowing Burley to share advice, promotions, and press coverage. The use of Advanced Custom Fields Pro ensures the backend remains lightweight and straightforward for the client to manage. Subtle animations, bold photography and video integration bring the products to life online. Since launch, Burley have reported a significant increase in enquiries and engagement through the website.
